"Civil War" & All Things Marvel ASIA
"Whose side are you on?" That's the tag line from the hottest comic book mini-series: "Civil War". Developed by Marvel Comics, this crossover event where heroes are pitted against heroes has sparked some of the misfit minds here in Asia to do something extraordinary in conjunction with the comic. In production is a series of 7" figure dioramas of some of the major players of this storyline. However, these are not your normal figure dioramas. Something more unique has been created; think interlocking bases for multiple dynamic head-to-head face-offs and now imagine 12 interlocking bases for some major devastation. Oh my! PopBox is proud to be the marketing and sales partner for these series of Marvel resins produce by manufacturer/licensee Tak Li and art extraordinaire Digger, founder of Art Asylum and Dig Deep Entertainment. Who says rock music and art are the only mediums for political expression! "Civil War" centers around a new political development in the Marvel universe. That is an introduction of the Super-Human Registration Act which requires anyone with supernatural abilities to register with the US federal government. The registrants receives special training to control their superpowers and in so doing become enforcement officers for the government. The development of the Super-Human Registration Act was caused by...[we donÕt want to spoil it for you -- go read the comic]. Alright, so 2 factions emerge: One led by Iron Man who advocates that superhumans should register as a responsible obligation for the protection of society and the other, by Captain America who opposes it as it violates the basic civil rights of the individual as well as turning every super person into government agents (lots have changed since WWII when you know who the real enemies were). The choosing of sides amongst the superheroes erupts into an explosive and somber civil war. Allll right! So are you with Iron Man or Cap'? __________________
